Modular
Style Blast Room With Fixed Point Vacuum Grit Recovery
Our Client is leading supplier of
rigs to the concrete slip forming industry. After completion of
such a project, the rigs are returned to them typically corroded
and coated in concrete. Before being sent out again, the rigs were
blasted and painted externally on a sub-contract basis. Due to quality
issues, our customer decided to bring this work in-house.

As the customer envisaged a upturn
in the hours he would spend blasting a modular room was suggested
that could, at a later date, be up-graded to a full recovery floor
with little effort.
Two
blast machines were incorporated to cope with the initial up-turn.
Within one year, working hours were such that a recovery floor was
required. The recovery floor has the potential to double production
by eliminating sweep up operations. The room was converted to a
full recovery floor in 3 days and within 3 weeks from reciept of
purchase order.
Besides
the blast room featured, the customer also purchased from Airblast
a 600cfm Ingersol Rand compressor package and a 7mt long wet back
spray booth.
